About UNITE
UNITE Spokesperson and Co-Spokespersons
The UNITE consortium is represented by the spokesperson Wolfgang Wick (Medical Faculty Heidelberg, University Hospital Heidelberg) supported by the co-spokespersons Michael Platten (Medical Faculty Mannheim, University Hospital Mannheim), Stefan Pfister (Medical Faculty Heidelberg, German Cancer Research Center) and Christiane Opitz (German Cancer Research Center). They work closely together with the UNITE steering committee and project management team to ensure the effective implementation of the work program and to decide on strategic science and technology topics within UNITE.
UNITE Steering Committee
The UNITE steering committee is formed by the spokespersons and selected junior and senior work package leaders, a PhD representative and the project management team. The steering committee oversees and discusses the work program, decides on scientific, technological and strategic topics, considers comments of the DFG and UNITE Scientific Advisory Board and (re)allocates funds. The steering committee aims to foster innovation, new developments and technology progress that can be initiated within UNITE.
UNITE Project Management
The scientific and administrative project management (PM) team is a central point of contact for the DFG, work package leaders and partners. The PM team supports the spokespersons and steering committee. Responsibilities include the monitoring of the implementation of the research program, the controlling of the budget, the communication within the consortium and with partners and the coordination of the UNITE School as well as gender diversity measures.
